As a part of Hwa Chong all students are required to take part in Projects Day competition, and it is compulsory to all sec 1's and sec 2's. I'm quite proud of taking part of this competition because it is fun and interesting. It can help me to build up teamwork and socialisation too! This competition is quite special because it actually counts mark in Independance Study subject. Others school may not have this kind of program but Hwa Chong actually have it!
In this competition, it was divided into about 10 catagories and we sec1's were recomended to choose this 4 catagories-invention, experimental researh, language arts(Eng and Chinese).Because we are new to this program so during the sec 1 assembly ,we are introduced by our beloved teachers that willing to spend their precious time just to guide us and give us more explanation in details for us. Not just that only, during the research studies, all teachers of each catagory came by that day to introduced more deeply on the respective catogaries. Firstly the teacher who in charge in experimental research gave her speech. During her speech, I knew that some experiment were not recommended to do research and conduct experiment like:causes of tsunami, the effect of brains after drinking a cup of coffee.............This kind of experiment were to hard to conduct experiment. As the teacher had said if the experiment we make is a failure we should redo.Besides that,the teacher also mention some sucessful works to us that was made by the se1's last year.
Secondly,is the invention catagory this catagory is quite difficukt to do because we have to do a prototype and have to do alot of research and take opinions from the others and see if the inventions is a suceed.So, sudents from last year that chose this catagory had met alot of failure because sometimes the prototype breakdown, and sometimes during presentation ,the prototype was not working, all sorts of problem. Next, is language arts .The objective of these speeches were to let us know more about the catagories of the competition.And as for me im taking part in inventions.

Hi, Eric here! I think that inventions or experimental-research project will be better as it is more challenging. But, most of my class, 1O2 prefer Chinese and Language Arts.

I don't really like doing projects but I have to as I am a student of the high and mighty Hwa Chong Institution. My team are doing inventions which is pretty challenging. I am deeply sorry that I did not choose you as a team mate. Anyway, I love some of your posts very much especially the one about Male Child. Keep it up!
