Cramped living conditions, lived in the dark with brothers and sisters. In the corner of my house, I was carrying my little sister who was crying for food to eat, she had not eat for a day. I used a dirty, moist piece of cloth to wipe her tears. I looked at my only piece of bread and gulped, I slowly handed it to my starving sister reluctantly. After so, I glanced at my family, the walls, beds everything that barely exist in our house and my tears soon flowed out like an opening tap. I made my mind clear and stood up to express my opinions, I decided to go out and test my luck........ What kind of story will it progress?

The persona may gamble and lose a lot of money, instead of winning more money to support the family. It would be a sad one as the setting could express the sadness and the poor living conditions. Maybe it has a sad feeling because of the persona's sister (she is quite likely to perish in this kind of story)...

I feel that the writer would go on writing about him trying to get rich through a short period of time by gambling. What he gambles may be the amount of money or wealth his family only had left as it mention that he "expressed my opinions". It would then either progress positively that the writer was lucky and won his family a better life. However, it may also turn towards the sad or negative side of him gambling all the things his family got and even got addicted to it, maybe even beating or scolding them.
ReplyDeleteI think the persona will gamble to try to win money to support the family which is futile as he will lose the limited amount of money he possesses. Otherwise, he might try to rob the bank with his friends, perhaps the persona and his friends had planned for a robbery before and the persona finally makes the move because he could not bear to see the unsightly condition of his house.
ReplyDeleteI feel that the persona might be going out to beg for money from people so as to buy food for his family members to eat. The persona may have begged for money before and failed to obtain any money hence, he decided to test out his luck by trying to beg from people again, hoping that he would succeed.
